Let’s face it. Summertime student ministry is different and sometimes difficult. The familiar routine of the school year is in chaos, and students either have a ton of free time or are busier than ever. The change of seasons usually results in a change of strategy for the majority of youth groups around the country.

There are tons of ideas about how to schedule youth ministry during the summer months. A quick Google Search reveals a myriad of options and opinions. I have listed nine sites that address this topic. Check them out and let me know what you think.

  1. Summer can be a tough time for Youth Ministry. Some people recommend shutting down your youth ministry programs for summer.

  3. You could use the extra time and nice weather to get creative with your Bible study.
  4. There are MANY benefits to taking your students on a Short-Term Missions Trip (at least 6 that I can think of).
  5. Or maybe you could create a more casual, relational environment for summer.
  6. Summer camp is always a very formative time for students. If you do choose to take your students to a camp, make sure to choose the right camp.
  7. The summer months are an important time to keep parents informed and involved.
  8. Remember that not everyone will be able to attend, but you can always Turn your summer photos into a slick movie and show them all what they missed!
