I guess you thought that once the election was over, you would not hear that line again for a while. I am as weary of hearing it as you are, but let me use it just one more time. We have all heard  much about each political candidate’s qualifications, passion, compassion and vision during this election season, so let me communicate about another group of people for whom I would vote.

They are not candidates nor are they running for any office. They do not put their names on signs or run media commercials promoting their virtues. They do not have a committee who is working to get out the vote on their behalf. They are just simply doing the job and making a difference!

They are committed, caring and consistent—working tirelessly to influence people for a higher cause. They are faithful to family and God. They have vision and passion, which is demonstrated by their lives, not by slogans. Their word is their bond, and words like trust and integrity can be used of their true character rather than a tool to try to define them.

Their willingness to give when they could take, to go when they would prefer to stay, to speak when they would like to be silent, to reach out when they could be reclusive, to touch lives with eternal consequences may never be recognized or rewarded on this earth. But they have a “quiet confidence” that what they are doing and accomplishing is not about the “temporal” but the “eternal.”

I could vote with confidence for this kind of person. I could commit myself to him/her and enjoy the relationship that would come from that association. I could rally to their cause and follow their lead.

Now, just who are these “non” candidates?  YOU: the “Youth Workers” to the youth of this nation and the world. I endorse you and your ministry wholeheartedly. I can recommend you to churches, pastors, other youth leaders and youth without hesitation. You are a strategic player on a team committed to “turning people from darkness to light and from the power of Satan unto God.”

I believe in you! I am Mike Calhoun and I approved this message!
