Depending on your geographical location, you have either just celebrated or are about to celebrate High School Graduations. Many of the students you have watched grow up in your ministry are leaving for college. Others may stay in the area with increased work hours but they will probably look at student ministry differently.

I want to suggest that once you have endured all the ceremonies, attended all the parties and cried through all the “last” youth meetings … that you begin your next step of ministry to this group of young adults. The “Grads but Not Gone.” (GBNG)

Although not physically in your student ministry, do not miss out on the opportunity to have a continued ministry in their lives. Let me mention a few ideas, plus an incredible resource that can help you continue your influence.

  • Establish a system of communication with the “Grads but Not Gone.” (GBNG) Just a simple plan for you or another leader to text, twitter or use some form of social media consistently could be a lifeline.
  • Ask a Senior Saint in your church to be the prayer partner for a (GBNG) and to communicate with them.
  • Check on the Christian ministries available on their campuses and help get them connected.
  • Help investigate potential churches in the area where they are relocating.
  • Give every student the 2014 Congradulations gift pack from Interlinc. This incredible resource has music, media and testimonies selected with these students in mind. It also contains Bible studies, devotionals and links to over twenty-five campus ministries. This is a tool that every student leader needs to grab and use.

What are some of the ways you are continuing influence with the GBNG’s?
