There is no “Secret Formula” for bringing Generation’s Y and Z to Christ. However, there is a “Gospel Magnet” for attracting them. This may sound contradictory but hear me out.

There is a difference in a “Secret Formula” and what I refer to as a “Gospel Magnet.” A formula suggests “X easy steps” to salvation or perhaps some procedure that will produce “guaranteed” results.

On the other hand, when I refer to being a “Gospel Magnet” I am simply talking about living out our faith. We are personally challenged scripturally to:

  • Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
  • Now when they saw the boldness of Peter and John…they realized that they had been with Jesus. Acts 4:13

Generations Y and Z want to see truth in action.

They do care about sound words, sound doctrine, and straight forward communication of the truth. When our walk and talk match, they become the connector or the “Gospel Magnet” for all generations but particularly these.

How have you had opportunities to reach Generations Y and Z as they have seen the consistency in your life?

  1. Mike,
You are so right. Students are striving for authentic relationships. In today’s culture of surface relationships they are longing for someone to show them a deep connection to God and his Word.

    • Allen, having leadership that is well grounded in the Word as well as skilled and knowledgeable of the times is a winning combination. Thank you for all you do to reach students. Mike
