God Raises Up Leaders

It is always refreshing to watch the making of a godly leader. To see God place His hand upon someone, orchestrate their lives and then place them in the position of leadership is like watching a work of art. In Psalm 75: 6-7 we are reminded that promotion comes from God.

Tomorrow night, August 19, 2011, Word of Life Fellowship, Inc. will install its fifth Executive Director. It will be an incredible service which has been in the planning for months. The real story though is the passing of the mantle of leadership to a man that God has been preparing for a lifetime.

Don Lough Jr. grew up around WOL. His parents were fulltime staffers and he worked at our camps beginning as a teen. He got a great foundation for ministry at the Word of Life Bible Institute, Cedarville University and Dallas Theological Seminary. He is married to Darla and they have four children: Alyssa, Jon, Justin, and Ashlyn.

His on-the-job training as assistant to Dr. Howard Hendricks helped to develop his leadership skills even while he was in seminary at Dallas (DTS). As the Vice President of International Ministries and the Director or Word of Life, he has traveled and ministered in over 60 countries globally as well as nationally.

After the Installation Service I will be posting a video that will better introduce you to him and his family.  But for now, I just wanted you to rejoice with us. I ask you to pray for Don and his family as he takes on this mammoth responsibility. I am convinced that he is the man God has raised up as the next leader of Word of Life Fellowship, Inc. and I am excited to serve alongside of him.
